Isn't the Houghton Hancock Bridge cool? We made a mini State Icon print of the Michigan landmark, which is formally named the Portage Lake Lift Bridge. Since the art is little, it'll fit just about anywhere in your home, and you can see it every day.
Our tiny framed illustration highlights the unique, double-deck, vertical lift bridge that connects the cities of Houghton and Hancock. It was built in 1959 to accommodate railroad, highway, and boat traffic. The lower deck is no longer used for trains, but it does serve as a crossing for snowmobiles in the winter months.
