  • Comes in a simple, black, handmade wooden frame (approx. 3.75" x 3.25" total) with recycled glass
  • Each illustration is signed by the artist
  • Frame is thick in depth, so it can stand on its own on a flat surface, or it can hang on the wall via a sawtooth hanger that's attached to the back

  1. Unique and iconic 5 Star Review

Posted by on Jul 24 2018

La Grande Vitesse was the first project funded by the Art in Public Places program of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Placed in 1969 in downtown Grand Rapids, it has become an icon of the the city (a version appearing in the city's logo). This is my 2nd La Grande Vitesse ("The Great Swiftness," or "The Grand Rapids") purchased. I gave the first one as a gift, but had to have one for myself. The small piece is lovely, and will help me commemorate "The Calder" (as the sculpture is generally known around here) as we celebrate 50 years in GR in 2019. Thanks for your beautiful work!
